This is a thread from another sub where I praised Japan for not acting like tyrants letting people live how they want and some yahoo started going in on me. These are my replies to his comments:

It’s a virus that’s highly contagious and has a fairly high mortality rate

Lie #1 Mortality rate has been at a constant 1.5% since the start of the pandemic and <1% for age groups younger than 65.

Given no attempt at prevention, that gets global fast, and continues to mutate until it actually does reach a point it can’t be dealt with anymore.

Lie #2 Viruses get weaker when they mutate, not stronger. At the very most, they mutate in a way that can enter the cells more easily, but it doesn't get more dangerous, you've been duped.

While this pandemic has certainly shown that a lot of people don’t give two shits about anyone but themselves and their personal quality of life, it’s the people that have sacrificed their quality of life and taken the proper precautions that are even allowing that level of selfishness by preventing it from advancing to the point it will actually affect you.

It's you who doesn't care about anyone else except your own safety. You are trying to conceal it by your virtue signaling and grandstanding.

But I am saying that you’re the kind of person that ideally would be picked off by the virus first.

People like you are evil miniature authoritarians who are nothing but fear mongers. This pandemic has exposed a lot of you. Do you care about rising suicide rates in children during the pandemic because of the stress and lockdowns? Do you care about countless businesses losing their livelihoods as a result of the draconian covid measures? Do you care about the 100s of thousands of covid vaccine deaths and adverse reactions to the vaccine?

You and people like you are nothing but hypocrites and "saving lives" while ruining people's lives is an oxymoron.
