I keep seeing it and I keep seeing people laugh at it. I was just watching the unrated version of Dirty Grandpa on Hulu. I thought it was funny, Aubrey Plaza in particular was making me laugh. But then there comes a scene where Zac Efron's character is on a beach, wearing only a bee shaped fanny pack, having just woken up from a night of doing drugs. He's on the phone with uptight fiance when a kid, probably no older than 6 or 7 years old walks up to him and tells him he wants to stroke the bee. The kid puts his entire face on the bee fanny pack covering Zac's dick before ripping it off, leaving Zac naked and this is when the kid's overweight dad comes up and freaks out, asking what happened (feels like a way of making the dad look like a joke). The kid says, "he let me stroke it, it was soft." WTF? This scene adds nothing to the movie, was throughly unnecessary and is just fucking creepy. This is where I shut it off.
And it's not just sexualizing kids, it's also vilifying them. I was just watching a Netflix show called The Woman in the House Across The Street From the Girl in the Window which revolves around a string of murders and which Kristen Bell's character is attempting to solve. Turns out the killer is her neighbor girl, roughly 10-years old. The actress is involved in a bloody fight scene which ends with the little girl being stabbed to death.
Something very creepy is going on. I've been seeing examples of this become a lot more flagrant. Pen15 was another show where I turned it off within 5 minutes after they zoomed in on a teenage actress' boobs...ew...the girl is actually underage and two extremely disgusting, predatory adult women (who irl are VERY creepy and weird) are talking about this teens tits. I think I'm going to organize something against this because I legit cannot take it anymore.
