Former Army Soldier here, I just find it very abnormal that two attacks against two minorities happened on the same day, in two states that have some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. Similarities between the attacks is that both gunmen seemed to be proficient in firearm training. Both of the shooters targeted their victims in a place they likely knew there would be little resistance against them for example the grocery store in NY and the Church in CA. Additionally, both attacks were missed by federal agencies like the FBI and Homeland Security, two agencies whose primary focus is counter-terrorism.

The most noticeable differences between both of the shootings however is that both of the shooters were vastly different in age and both of them used different weapons. The NY shooter used an M16 and the CA shooter reportedly used two hand guns.
