Not sure what it is but people are just getting dumber, unaware, arrogant and just unbearable to be around.

I’ll start off with driving. The amount of people I come across that shouldn’t be on the road is at an all time high. I drive 45 min to and from work 5 days a week and it’s scary out there. Not like road rage scary but people going slow AF like 5 under the speed limit for no reason, like they are mentally asleep but physically driving. These people will also not pass the person in front of them in a 1 way road…so then you have a line of 5-6 cars all going under the speed limit.

A lot of not paying attention as well where people just pull out in front of you but not quickly like they know you’re there, but normally as if there wasn’t anyone else on the road. Just no self awareness to anything outside their vehicle. Some drivers have a total lack of consideration as well, I have had so many people just stop in the middle of the road, parking lot, or entry/exit way of a store to just take care of something instead of pulling over.

I pulled into Panera the other day to grab a bagel and was letting this family pass and their dumb ass teenage daughter walked in front of my car at a snails pace as of I wasn’t even there. Then just kinda stood there not looking at me while I waited while she stared at her mom talking to her…I looked around thinking, “what is she waiting for? Is there a car coming?” Nope…nothing. Just decided to stop walking in the middle of the parking lot in front of my car as I was trying to park. So I said fuck it and just started driving around her and she had the most disgusted look on my face like I was the asshole…

I Have a bad habit of eavesdropping when I’m sitting by myself on my lunch break or sitting in a restaurant and when by myself I notice people just sound dumb now. The conversations have no substance no matter what age group their in and it’s always about mainstream tv, social media, what some Hollywood asshole is doing that doesn’t do anything to benefit anyones lives. I think a lot of people got used to this the past two years been locked inside and glued to a screen. It sounds like No one cares about the other person or how their day was, what hobbies they have going on, weekend plans etc…

Rudeness is another one. People don’t hold doors open for each other, cut in line to order food or check out, don’t care to help with anything or just look out for their fellow man.

I’m trying not to rant but the decline of just normal decency to others is falling fast and idk why. It’s not like it’s been a slow build up but I feel like this happened out of no where.
