I recently went to a fast food restaurant, said hello, made my order, shared a smile, paid cash, had a great & friendly quick interaction with a fellow human being at the till all within a few seconds. I sat down to eat near the big ordering screens and noticed how much longer it took the other customers to enter their orders & pay. It was a few minutes for some of them. There's a camera built into those things already, so switching to a cashless/cardless biometric payment system wouldn't take much more than a software upgrade.
