It just dawned on me watching a video on Facebook following the bomb squad somewhere on a call of a potential IED and the process they go through from first arrival at location of potential IED, then the very thorough investigation into quite literally everything to do with the situation, down to collecting DNA from the device that ultimately turned out to be bunk, like its an insanely thorough investigation into the situation to figure out who, what, why, where, when, how.

When the guide stones were partially destroyed by an improvised explosive device, they instead opted out of conducting any sort of investigation whatsoever to instead, demolish the entire piece for 'safety reasons'.

This wasn't someone manually destroying them with their cat, or a sledge hammer, it was a fucking bomb, in one of the more intensely protected/defended nations on earth, and a bomb is set off, partially destroying the guidestones, that they somehow have video of, but no video of anybody placing anything there, I mean, unless people have easy access to rocket propelled grenades in American, I'm Canadian, I wouldn't know, and there wasn't a single second put into trying to figure out what the fuvk just happened, how, and who. They chose to fully destroy the remaining stones standing, along with any evidence left behind in the process.
