I guess I was quite surprised reading some threads and comments how many users on this sub believe in God and religion. By higher power I don't mean global elite but rather a God or Gods depending on which religion you follow.

I had assumed, perhaps wrongly, that the "question everything" and "don't believe everything you are told" approach to life would have skewed the majority of users here to be somewhat atheists.

Given that the existence of a god is totally unproven and religion is largely a tool used by those in charge to exert control. In essence, all you have to go on is what someone told you without any evidence. That doesn't sit with the usual narrative of the users here.

Would be keen to hear your thoughts

Edit: seems to be a mixed response with lots of people not really understanding how evolution, probability or abiogenesis works.
