I’m a filthy Brit and so I’m only getting this second hand, but the lines outside polling stations, the short opening hours and lack of availability in some areas seems like planned failure. In the UK I’ve never waited more that 15 mins to vote at a station 10 mins tops from my house.
Postal votes just aren’t a thing here unless you’ll be physically be unable be in the area on the day, which seems like it would make alot of people in the US happy. It just seems like the system is being deliberately allowed to fail. Not to mention the media circus going full frenzy mode.
I think everyone can agree that the larger the turnout, the healthier it is for democracy as a representative expression of the will of the people, so how has it gotten that bad?
