So the entire Apollo program was pulled off in under a decade. The lunar suits used on Apollo all worked well with no failures and were developed for under 1 million in today's dollars.
The Artemis suits are still not ready after 15 years and will cost 1 Billion to develop.
Why?
The old ones were not safe?
We lost the technical knowhow? All the good seamstresses at Playtex are now too old to sew by hand?
This whole thing stinks.
On July 20, 1969, when Neil Armstrong took his “one giant leap” onto the Moon, he was clad in this custom-made spacesuit, model A7L, serial number 056. Its cost, estimated at the time as $100,000 (more than $670,000 today)
