Watch your transactions closely! Especially lately!
My wife and I primarily bank with Huntington Bank and, strangely, have been noticing transactions taking longer than usual to process, often resulting in alot of confusion regarding our actual balance. On some occasions could have sworn money disappeared then later reappeared.
Then I am hearing reports and reading news articles about money disappearing from Bank of America customers accounts:
Fox Business: Bank of America customers report 'disappeared' money from accounts after Zelle issue. https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/bank-of-america-customers-report-disappeared-money-accounts-zelle-issue
On 1/6, I made a purchase at a store using my Discover credit card, then later returned an item from my original purchase on 1/11. That same day, I saw the return amount reflected in my statement history. Fast forward to today when I went to review and subsequently pay of my balance and the entire return transaction I previously saw is just straight up missing.
Called customer service and they said they saw the transaction but said it COULD have just been coded wrong by the merchant and it SHOULD resolve itself in a few days. Rep said if it doesn't, then call back to dispute.
Definitely not happy with that answer. Bet they were hoping I wouldn't notice. Time to stop using Banks and credit cards and start burying my money.
