2. Spy balloons are WWII era tech. China has advanced spy satellites that can spy on the US at will with very sophisticate sensor suites.

This is a story being sold to YOU and the spy balloon is a prop. Its something physical they can show you "Look you can see it for yourself, we are telling the truth".

I cannot believe how the vast majority of you have taken this story at face value. Have you learned nothing?
