The name ‘TikTok’ is a tongue-in-cheek joke by China directed at Americans.

This is because, in American entertainment media, ‘tick-tock’ is only ever spoken by villains. It’s the stuff of nightmares in horror movies. The Joker would cackle to Batman “tick-tock tick-tock!” And as someone is being hypnotized, tick tock becomes the only sound they hear as they slip into darkness.

Hypnotism is about controlling attention and depriving sensory. It works by repetitive motion which any person’s mind will synchronize with after enough time. It cannot be resisted like physics. The most brilliant person will synchronize with a clock if they stare long enough, like they took psychedelic drugs.

Mass hypnotism is the joke and it’s the weapon in this case. Tiktok is intentionally made for mass hypnotism.

Instagram was made by American junkies, tech people who just want to make shiny things but don’t know why. But tiktok was made with a purpose, by people who saw Instagram and recognized its hypnotizing power. The people who made it knew so surely that it would work and that people couldn’t resist that, like pharma-companies still today, they just don’t even need to hide it, and they hubristically named it Tiktok because we wouldn’t notice and everyone would submit themselves.

The only solution is to stop looking. But if someone is hypnotized then if you try to wake them it’s actually painful for them. Hypnotism is about controlling attention and depriving sensory. So when someone becomes numb and transfixed, disturbing them so they feel reality is actually painful. Disturbances are like brilliant flashes of light for someone in darkness, they have to look away.

It is the responsibility of people who are not hypnotized or have escaped hypnotism to be patient but also urgent in breaking the spell. The only way to do this is by issuing sensory disturbances that separate the mind from the synch with the ticking clock.

……… Or it could just be that tiktok is just the metronome sound because it came from a dance app company, and it’s a universally catchy name, and there is no intentional conspiracy here. But it was fun writing this short horror story, and even if it wasn’t intentional, the hypnotism is still true.
