I don't understand this phenomenon at all.

Why is there this discrepancy in this subbreddit?

Other subs (ex: "politics") aren't like this. The top comment in those "types" (if you know what I mean) of subs always aligns with the sentiment of the OP.

Most other subs aren't like this. I've noticed it primarily in this sub.

Do those who support the post just digest, upvote & bounce and those who oppose (I'm going be nice and not call them names) stick around to voice outrage and circlejerk each other in the comments?

I feel like majority of the people commenting actually hate that this sub exists TBH and that people are able to post about current political conspiracies. Those are a type of conspiracy.

In fact those are more real than conspiracies revolving around UFOs, Bigfoot, Lochness monster etc. These types of conspiracies are for stupid people who are utterly oblivious to what is actually happening in the world around them. Especially in the United States.

I always feel like that is a deflection comment - omg talk about Bigfoot, ufos... blah blah. I thought this was a conspiracy sub... blah blah blah. Cry cry cry.

It is an attempt to dumb down the content posted on this subreddit.

Very odd.

The top 3 posts on this sub currently are all mine. 99% of the comments are negative. It makes ZERO sense that the posts shot straight to the top of thr sub but yet have 99% negative engagement in the comments. Like WTF lol

Why is the post itself going up to the moon, while the comments are going down into the lowest pit of hell? They are completely in the gutter and infested with swamp minions and brainwashed larpers.

Obviously a lot of people hold a favorable disposition towards my posts, moreso than those commenting. They are outnumbered by a shit ton in fact. I know this because I can see the stats. My posts always get roughly about 300,00 views each. And I have no problem generating upvotes from users who come across my post.

But swampy comment section makes zero sense.

I have completely disengaged and have stopped interacting in my comments section for this very reason.
